We regularly assemble three times per week:
  • Sunday Morning -- 10 a.m. for Bible study with classes for all ages, and 10:45 a.m. for worship
  • Sunday Evening -- 5:30 p.m. for worship
  • Wednesday Evening -- 7 p.m. for Bible study with classes for all ages
Our Bible study classes focus on just that--the study of the text of the Bible itself.  God's word contains his wisdom, which is far above the wisdom of man.  (See 1 Corinthians 1:18-25).  It provides the basis for true faith, (Romans 10:17), and the nourishment needed for true spiritual growth.  (1 Peter 2:1-3; Hebrews 5:12-14).

Our worship to God follows the simple practices we read about in the New Testament.
  • Prayer:  On several occasions during our worship, the congregation is led in heartfelt prayer.  (See Acts 2:42, 12:12).
  • Singing:  We engage in a period of congregational singing.  (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).  Our singing is a cappella or without instrumental accompaniment.  Rather, we each focus on "making melody with your heart to the Lord."  (Ephesians 5:19).
  • The Lord's Supper:  We partake of the Lord's Supper or communion each Sunday in memory of Jesus' death on the cross.  (See Acts 20:7).  This communion involves the emblems designated by Jesus, the unleavened bread and fruit of the vine.  (See Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
  • Giving:  The members of the church at Market Street are given an opportunity to contribute financially to the work of the Lord, just as the early Christians did each first day of the week.  (See 1 Corinthians 16:1-4).  Visitors to our assemblies are neither expected nor encouraged to contribute.
  • Preaching:  During each worship service, a lesson from God's word is presented.  (See Acts 20:7).
We cordially invite you to our services, and invite any questions you may have about our worship practices.
